cityWell brooklyn is a wellness spa in Gowanus, founded in 2015 by Liz Tortolani, a massage therapist with 25 years of experience. Massages combine Swedish and deep tissue techniques, and every massage includes hot stones, warm towels and customized aromatherapy. Lymphatic drainage massage, body scrubs, face and body treatments and a Bathhouse Blend clay mask add-on are also on the menu. Sessions take place in the indoor Loft, the Cabin, a lightly heated cedar sauna built for massage, or the seasonal outdoor Pergola, beside a backyard garden with a hammock, outdoor shower and fire pit.
